What is the assessment and plan. Chief complaint: patient presents after having a hypoglycemic episode HPI S.W. is a 60 year old man who presents for a checkup following a hypoglycemic episode after a night of drinking beers and watching football. He states he had 6 beers over the course of 5 hours on Friday 1/5. He started drinking at 5pm and finished drinking at 10pm. Towards the end of the night at midnight he started to feel lightheaded and clammy. He laid down in bed and his wife checked his blood sugar, it was 45. His wife got him a glucose pill and rechecked his blood sugar and it was 120 after 10 minutes. He felt fine once his blood sugar was 120. He is concerned that his current oral anti-glycemic medications are what caused his blood sugar to drop and wants to see if they need to be adjusted. He checks his blood sugar daily in the morning and ranges between 100-120. This was his first hypoglycemic event in years.
