My name is Lucy Mutai. I completed my BSW last year and am now pursuing an MSW specializing in geriatric care. I am a mother of five children and two grandchildren. Pursuing a Master of Social Work degree will expand my expertise in providing exceptional care to older adults. This educational pursuit will allow me to gain specialized knowledge and further advance my career opportunities. My passion for working with older adults has been a driving force since my teenage years. I used to spend time with them, listening to their stories and wisdom as they narrate. I volunteered with Mission Arlington and had an opportunity to interact with older adults and caregivers to get some help from the organization. I want to learn more about the caregivers, the issues that affect them while caring for others, and how they can benefit from support groups and respite care. How can caregivers deal with burnout and manage their well-being?
