The nurse calls the healthcare provider to provide an SBAR about the contraindicated medication order. Items to be Ordered Hello, this is the nurse calling about Mary Evans, a 78yo female who was just admitted to the medical-surgical floor for a UTI. I see that you have already placed orders for her, and I have a question about the bolus order. 2. Mary has a history of hypertension and congestive heart failure. 3. Her blood pressure was 148/98, pulse 92, pulse oximetry of 92% on room air, slight crackles in her lungs, and 2+ pitting edema in her ankles and feet 4. I am worried that if we bolus her that fast, she will develop pulmonary edema Can we run the bolus over 4-6 hours to help prevent this instead? Yes
