Prior to pursuing my business degrees, I was enrolled in nursing school for a little less than a year. During this time, we were expected to report to our local hospital from 6AM until 3PM to complete clinical rounds with assigned patients. Within our groups, we were each assigned a partner to work with throughout the first two weeks of clinical rotations. During this time, my partner and I would meet after classes to get our patient’s personal information, health records, medication list, and assigned unit staff. My partner and I were able to help each other find this information within our patients’ charts and discuss their plan of care, as well as take turns helping each other out on the floor. This made for a very easy transition into the hospital and in terms of getting accustomed to the practicality of nursing. Another positive teamwork experience I had was when I was in a communications class a couple years ago. We had to submit a 20 page essay that counted as our final, which was also considered a group project. I was in a group of five, and all of us took turns discussing our objectives for the
