ІІ/ Case #3. A 17-year-old male admitted to the intensive care unit unconscious. Medical history given his relatives shows that last few days he complained of fatigue, extreme thirst, drowsiness, drinking lots of water. The patient did not visit any doctor. This morning, the patient did not attend classes due to severe weakness, during the day the relatives could not wake him up. 3 weeks ago, the patient got sick from a severe acute respiratory infection. Physical examination: consciousness is absent. The patient reacts poorly to pain stimuli. Skin is dry, skin turgor is decreased. Heart: rhythm regular, BP 80/40 mmHg, heart rate 120 per minute. Breathing is deep and noisy. Respiratory rate 22 per minute. Lungs: clear to auscultation. Tongue is dry with brown discoloration. The abdomen is soft, the liver is at the edge of the costal arch. Laboratory tests: plasma glucose – 30 mmol/l, creatinine – 170 μmol/l, plasma osmolarity – 350 mSmol/l, sodium – 130 mmol/l, potassium – 5,0 mmol/l. 1. Identify Syndromes. 2.
