Situation T.L. is a 54-year-old male who was admitted to the medical/surgical unit 72 hours ago. Background T.L. is a 54-year-old male who is admitted to the medical/surgical unit for increasing abdominal pain, and nausea and vomiting for 4 days. T.L has had a poor appetite for the week. T.L states he stopped drinking ETOH (alcohol) about 2 days ago. T.L is showing tremors in his hands, unsteady gait, and has begun making comments of seeing bugs crawling on his skin. Your head-to-toe assessment is as follows: Personal/Social History T.L. lives alone in his home. He is single, and has no children. His emergency contact is his mother who lives 10 minutes away from him and frequently will deliver him prepared meals she has made to his home. T.L has struggled with ETOH addiction since he was 22 years old. He has been to a detox facility previously, and felt it did not help him. T.L. just recently lost his job due to increasing call-outs for being ill and unable to go to work. T.L admits to smoking 1 pack of cigarettes daily, and drinking 5-10 beers on week nights with including hard alcohol on the weekends. T.L has PMH
