While the country already faces many serious health challenges, the situation is only compounded by an overworked, under funded and strained healthcare system. “financial dysfunction, as well as a shortage of healthcare workers and infrastructure.(Aborode,et,al.,2021)” One major health challenge when diagnosing patients with the Ebola Virus, is that symptoms of the Ebola Virus (nausea, headache, vertigo, and abdominal pain) often mimic the same symptoms of the disease Malaria, or Hepititis C, however the danger in misdiagnosing the Ebola Virus would result in the patient who is Ebola Virus positive but is not aware, will have the ability to easily infect those around them through airborne contact. Where as, a person who was misdiagnosed with Malaria or Hepatitis C will be educated that they would be contagious to another human being only by blood transmisison. The Ebola virus spreads quickly and by the time that a misdiagnosis was corrected, there is a potential for many people, including the healthcare workers to have been infected.
