Can you reply to this classmate? Hi all! My name is Amber Holcomb. I am from a small, rural community in East Tennessee. I work as an emergency nurse. I have done so for the last few years and before the ER, I worked many years as a hospice nurse. My goal after completion of my MSN FNP is to serve my hometown. There continues to be a need for more healthcare providers in this area and I hope to assist in bridging that gap for a community that is dear to me. Coming into this course I am feeling unprepared, as this first discussion post has required me to do quite a bit of research as I am not familiar with many nursing theories. One theory that I was introduced to in my undergraduate studies was Florence Nightingale’s Environmental Theory. As many of you, if not all of you know, Florence rendered aid to soldiers in 1854. She noted that the conditions were deplorable.
