The Ebola Virus outbreaks are often sudden, without warning, highly contagious and carry with it, a high mortality rate. The Ebola Virus itself, often begins by the ingestion of an infected animal, and spread quickly by way of bodily fluids (saliva, urine, sweat, semen, vomit). Between the years 2014-2016, The Ebola Virus brought with it a,”death toll of 28,616 cases of EVD and 11,310 deaths were reported in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.”(CDC, 2019), and the virus eventually advanced to countries outside of West Africa, “Italy, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. (CDC, 2019)” While the Ebola Virus presents itself with overwhelming challenges in order to prevent future outbreaks, there are important measures that be taken to help prevent futue outbreaks, Education, vaccines, and medical attention to those in need. Creating and implementing a Humanitarian Aid Trip in order will bring both education to the communities along with vaccinations and medical attention and medications to help those suffering the effects of the Ebola Virus.
