The article, “The Role of Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Healthcare Therapies and Practices in the Prevention and/or Treatment of COVID-19: An Umbrella Review”, discusses how an umbrella review of integrative approaches to COVID was created by 3 ND’s. The article discussed how ND’s deep knowledge of traditional medicine and knowledge of advances in biochem and pathophysiology gives them a unique angle when it comes to integrative therapy for COVID. This article brought to light the obstacles that ND’s still face to this day when it comes to aiding in public health measures because of factors like inadequate financial support and government policies. When COVID happened, there were a significant amount of research reviewed pertaining to NHP’s (natural health products) done by the World Naturopathic Federation. There were so many articles reviewed that an ‘umbrella review’ process was initiated as a result. An umbrella review is essentially a review that analyses several meta-analyses and systemic reviews primarily. This type of review is one of the highest level of evidence you can provide.
