respond to My last experience with the healthcare system was at the dental office. Dentistry is much more fragmented than other specialties in the healthcare system. We see that many dental practices are independent and competitive. Because I work at a dental office as a Front Desk Admin, I notice that it can be a bit difficult scheduling patients at times due to doctors being booked ahead of time, or having sudden changes in the schedule due to emergencies. Since I am fully aware of what occurs at our dental office, there are many things that I wish could change to improve patient experience. The biggest issue that I tend to come across is waiting to be seen by the doctor due to unexpected walk-in emergency patients or even procedures that take longer than expected. I believe that with an issue like this, it is important to have enough staff on call in case of events like this. Sometimes being understaffed can rise to become a bigger issue in a dental office because it will cause a major change in the schedule, like having to reschedule patients to another day or having a longer waiting period.
