Following their discharge from the hospital, women are provided with additional supplies and guidance for the care of their baby. One key support that Finland provided is extended parental leave. Both parents receive 14 days and the option to transfer 69 days to each other. Additionally, the birthing parents receive an extra month. The paid parental leave provided by Finland is beneficial for parents as it results in the good health of the baby and birthing parents as well as greater income.
