0545 69-year-old male 3 days post cardiac arrest with successful resuscitation on scene; history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, 32 pack-year smoking history, and diabetes mellitus type 2 (DM2); extubated at 0430 and placed on bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP) 10/5, rate 12/min, and FiO2 40%; lungs clear, diminished right middle and lower lobes; T 98.1 °F (36.7 °C) , HR 114 regular, RR 22, BP 138/66, PaO2 92%; skin pale, warm, and dry face, chest, and arms; talking without difficulty; ice chips provided to soothe sore throat; call light in reach. —A.
