Destiny, age 14, was slender as a child but put on some weight when she went through puberty. Recently, a classmate told Destiny called Destiny “a porker” and her grandfather affectionately called her his “chubby bunny.” Destiny vows to lose weight and begins a strict diet. Despite the scale showing weight loss, Destiny looks in the mirror and becomes angry at her “enormous” body. She begins exercising vigorously and cutting out any food item with fat in it. After hitting her goal weight, Destiny continues to cut food out and decrease her caloric intake because she is still “fat.” She becomes irritated when people say that she needs to gain weight, can’t they see that she’s still overweight? What eating disorder does Destiny appear to suffer from?
