However, this balance was thrown off due to a side effect from the medication for his high blood pressure. The resistance in this case was the side affect of sexual impatience from medication. Due to this,his interpretive accounts, performance, and self image were all affected. The text brings to light that health concerns can have a major impact on one’s identity and it is important to make sure one’s identity is balanced and/or adjusts to the change in health status. To bring back balance in the Integrative Health Model, one must do something called alignment. In Tim’s case, this is going to his doctor and being transparent about what is happening so that the doctor and him may come up with solutions moving forward.
