Please respond to this peer post and ask a Home health professionals need to have specific licenses, skills, and qualifications in my opinion in order to give good quality care to their patients in their own homes. Depending on what they are doing, they will need certain licenses. Certified Nursing Assistants and Registered Nurses are two types of licensed professionals that home health professionals may hold. The training that they both receive may include but not be limited to the skills needed to take care of someone in their home. Monitoring vitals, basic medical procedures, and even other daily tasks like bathing, feeding and dressing homebound patients. According to the Code of Laws (n.d.), a license if definitely required in the state of South Carolina. Any and all in-home care providers need to apply and be awarded a license from the state department. The license will only be valid for a certain time period that the state department decides on. I definitely agree with this law that is in effect form the state department because in my opinion, it will keep patients safe. I think this is because the caretaker will feel more responsible or be held to a higher standard than if they were not required to have a license.
