Unfortunately, there are going to be days that we experience patients coming into the office that are not very nice. We as medical professionals are going to have to maintain a professional attitude and assist these patients that are seeking medical attention. In this scenario, the patient is obviously dealing with a difficult time in his life due to the fact that he lost his wife. Additionally, the patient may not be in the right state of mind, which can control the way he is interacting with the medical staff. Charli should know that this patient is in a depression and should just ignore that he is being grumpy. Charli showed a positive attitude and did her best to push through it until Charli made that slick comment, she showed unprofessionalism and unmerciful behavior. Do not get me wrong, we should stand up for ourselves, but this was not the proper way of handling the situation. Although there is no time management, it is important that Charli continues throughout her day being productive and to not allow the whole situation with the patient distract her throughout seeing other patients.
