In implementing music as an intervention for postoperative patients, it is best to identify what measures work best in making this intervention as effective as possible. Previously, five articles have been reviewed, including their methods and results. This submission will look to identify comparisons between each article, setting, and sample to determine which method yields the most conclusive results in favor of using music as an intervention. While an integrative model was very useful in determining the mechanisms in perceived pain, (Loewy, 2022),it did little to nothing to Advance research in practicality and application. This leaves two studies that were systematic reviews and meta-analysis, (Kakar, 2021) (Patiyal, 2021), One trial with mixed method analysis (Ames, 2017) and one randomized controlled trial (Mishra, 2022). In reviewing the settings and samples, both trials had seemingly far narrower scopes of eligible patients with disqualifying factors. In (Ames, 2017) The studies setting was established as the intensive care unit, which screened 62 patients that had to be vetted for eligibility. After which, 41 eligible patients were allowed to listen to music four times a day over the course of 48 hours.
