A theory I Like: I like the theory of human becoming developed by Parse (Alligood, 2022). What I like about this theory is that it focuses on the person rather than the illness and emphasizes the importance of personal growth and development. It emphasizes the nurse’s role in helping the patient become the best version of themselves rather than just providing medical care. This resonates with me because, when caring for patients, the nurse should not just provide medical care but also focus on helping them become the person they want to be. I will use this theory in my practice by getting to know my patients, helping them figure out what their goals are, and helping them reach those goals.
