how can I respond back to this post written by a colleague: I enjoyed reading your post. Management and providers may have different perspectives on how to handle patients and their rights. It is important to respect patients wishes as well as protecting their wellbeing at the same time to the best you can. For instance, patients with different religions may not accept the same treatment as other patients solely because of their beliefs. Even if it may interfere with their health treatment plan, it is up to the providers to respect that regardless of how the provider feels about it ethically. If this right is violated, the provider may be able to involve legal counsel but management does feel as though, ethically, it may not align with their beliefs but it is a violation of the patients rights and beliefs.
