Migraine: A 33-year-old female presents with c/o right-sided headache since yesterday. She does report nausea but no vomiting. Bright lights and loud sounds make her headache worse. She denies any other symptoms. She has tried Ibuprofen 800mg tid which eases the pain some but doesn’t completely take it away. She has noticed that in the last couple of months she has been getting these types of headaches when she is on her period. She is currently on her menses. She works as a secretary and has 3 children…ages 10, 8 and 6. She is married. Routine medications include Sprintec qd. She is allergic to Bactrim. She has no surgical history. Mom has a history of migraines. Dad is healthy. Two siblings without health problems. She does not smoke. She exercises 3-4 days/week at the local gym. V/S: b/p 122/61, HR 70, RR 16, temp 98.9. Ht: 68″. Wt: 163lbs.
