Patient complains of yellow, odorless vaginal discharge. Also complains of stabbing pain with urination. She has noticed lower abdominal pain and pain with intercourse. She has had one partner for the past 3 months. The symptoms have been going on for about 2 weeks and would rate them a 6/10. LMP – 3 weeks ago. She has tried a vaginal douche but did not seem to notice any difference. She is on lisinopril 10 mg per day for hypertension and is allergic to penicillin but cannot remember the reaction. What could these symptoms be caused by? The symptoms described are suggestive of a sexually transmitted infection (STI), possibly Trichomoniasis or Bacterial Vaginosis (BV).
