Taylor & Stanton (2021), explores the causes of obesity, eating disorders, and addiction to alcohol and smoking, showing the history of why these potential addictions are brought on, which I found very interesting as most of this addiction is brought on by habitual behaviors that a person is exposed to from a young age. If I were a public health administrator, a program that I could create would be directed towards obesity reduction or smoking. A more comprehensive approach would address various aspects of these health issues. First would be gathering data on the prevalence of obesity or smoking in the target population. Second would be setting a clear goal or objectives needed to be established within the program. Third, develop evidence-based interventions by proving effectiveness in reducing obesity and smoking while implementing the program and monitoring the progress.
