It is not uncommon for medical providers to have friendly relationships with patients. This is often done to gain the trust of their patients, and just to have a more welcoming atmosphere. In this scenario, Sharon the medical assistant maintained professional and welcoming behavior by greeting her patient. While being in the same room, the patient Ed begins making Sharon uncomfortable with asking personal and inappropriate questions. Sharon remained calm and collected, as I am sure she was worried on the inside. Sharon should have gone to a manager and explained the situation after she left the exam room. In my opinion, a male medical provider should proceed to treat the patient instead of Sharon. Although the patient may have not meant any harm, that should never be tolerated in any workplace. Although I do not notice any time management issues, this concern could have slowed down Sharon from her daily tasks and seeing other patients. There is no hygiene issues, but it is important to keep a clean environment for everyone. what can i add to this persons post?
