A 22-year-old man presents to an outpatient clinic with a non-painful lump in his groin which seemed to appear after a minor bike accident. Four weeks ago, he suffered minor trauma to his left testicle after being run off the road by a motor vehicle while he was on his bike. The bike ran into a curb, causing his body to lunge forward and his groin to collide with handle bar. He suffered only minor bruising and no change to genitourinary function. Once he recovered from the accident, he noticed a lump in the left testicle. He denies frequency, dysuria, hematuria, or urethral discharge. He is otherwise well without significant past medical history. He is a university student and denies recent sexual activity. He has a firm, smooth, non-tender, round, 2cm mass in his left testicle that does not transilluminate. Other physical examinations are unremarkable. What investigation is the next appropriate step in management of this patient? A. Review in 3 months B. Nucleic acid testing for chlamydia and gonorrhea C. Measurement of carcinoembryonic antigen D. Testicular ultrasonography
