Case 1 CC: JJ is a 66 yoM presenting with abdominal bloating and constipation. HPI: JJ endorses not having a bowel movement for 3 days. He states that this issue occurs every couple weeks and has been ongoing for the past 6 months or so. He denies fever, rectal bleeding, recent weight loss, and vomiting. PMH: HTN, atrial fibrillation, OA (s/p R TKA 10/2017), chronic knee pain 2/2 OA, obesity Medications: • Enalapril 5mg PO BID • HCTZ 25mg PO daily • Verapamil 80mg PO TID • Apixaban 5mg PO BID • Acetaminophen 325mg PO q6h prn mild-moderate pain • Oxycodone 5mg PO q6h prn severe pain • Ondansetron 4mg PO q8h prn nausea 2. JJ is desperate for relief of his symptoms today. Is there anything he can take that will work within a few hours?
