Khurshid et al. (2017), History of falls was another reported predictor for delayed OAC treatment, as intracranial bleeding is an associated risk with falls for patients on OACs. The study found that patients with hypertension receive treatment more rapidly. This could be due to providers being more aware and/or concerned with the stoke risk associated hypertension. Therefore, it is important to utilize a systems thinking method to ensure minimize delays in OAC and prophylactic treatment. paraphrase
