Why (or why not) is it important to track daily admissions and discharges to the hospital? Why (or why not) do hospitals need to know how many patients are admitted and discharged on the same day? How could it help to know whether these A&D patients are inpatient vs. observation level of care? How could it help to know what the payer source is for these A&D patients (especially considering their level of care)?
