A patient is has been prescribed Drug A for the last several years for treatment of Type II diabetes. Drug A is administered as a prodrug and is metabolized to its active form by CYP3A4. A patient comes to you with strep throat and you are considering prescribing drug B to treat the Strep throat. Interestingly, Drug B is a well known inhibitor of CYP3A4. How will this affect the level of active drug A in the blood? There will be no impact on the levels of active Drug A It will decrease the levels of active Drug A It will increase the levels of active Drug A
