Which model or framework seems to fit your way of thinking best? Why? (response should reflect the key elements of the model and a justification that may relate to scope, context, coherence, etc)
What is the most important aspect of a framework or model?

My question: does this adequate answer the questions? what can I add to make this post better?

this is for a discussion post and I have to cite using apaformat

My reply:

Four Models/Frameworks

Within Chapter 5 there are 4 different frameworks and models that are discussed including the PARIHS framework, Iowa model, Ottawa model, and lastly the JBI model. According to our book, Introduction to Evidence-Based Practice: A Practical Guide for Nursing (2nd Edition), models are “generally a representation of a real phenomenon, but they are narrower, usually represent a specific situation, and are made of more precise assumptions.” (Nilsen, 2015; Rycroft-Malone & Bucknall, 2010b, Hopp 2020). On the other hand, frameworks are more of “a set of variables and relationships that should be examined in order to explain phenomena. They are not required to connect directly to the hypothesis at hand”( Kitson et al, 2008, Hopp 2020). In my opinion after reading the chapter the most important aspect of a framework or model is its ability to organize your thoughts and create a pathway or structure in which the user can clearly process through the evidence they would like to implement. (Hopp 2020).

The four main models/frameworks discussed were:

The Iowa Model: The Iowa Model was “a guide to research utilization” (Iowa Model Collaborative, 2017; Hopp 2020). This model is straightforward because it uses ‘decision points.’ These decision point seem to me like questions asks sets of that will guide the user to make the correct decision regarding their clinical research theyd like to implement. It is very similar to a flow chart. The five triggers include “clinical or patient identified issue; organization, state, or national initiative; data or new evidence; accrediting agency requirements/regulation; and philosophy of care” (Hopp 2020) Following there are three main decision points which are: “Is this topic a priority, is there sufficient evidence and lastly is this change appropriate for adoption into practice.”

The Ottawa Model:  The Ottawa looks to guide its user to ‘valid research implementation’ (Hopp 2020) The essential pieces of this model are ability to help the user ‘assess barriers and support, then monitor the process and degree of use during implementation, and finally evaluate the impact of the project.’ (Hopp 2020)

The PARIHS Framework: The PARIHS model has five main sections: Successful Implementation (SI) is a function of the Active Ingredient of Facilitation (Facn) and the nature of the Innovation (I), including the evidence, the Recipients’ Engagement (R) and the quality of the Context (C) (Harvey & Kitson, 2015, Hopp 2020)

The JBI Model: The JBI model is used to guide implementation of evidence based practiceto improve global health. (Pearson et al, 2005, Hopp 2020). “evidence generation, synthesis, transfer, utilization, and enhanced global health.”

I believe the JBI model best suits my method of thinking. Many topic that interests me have a larger global impact and could seek to benefit the world. Actually, my research topic would benefit from this method. The maternal mortality rate for African American women however this subject matter doesn’t just affect the United States but numerous countries around the world that have high mortality rates for black women. This method caught my attention to the most because the book mentions it has “unique attention to questions of meaningfulness, they could search for systematic reviews relevant to this question” (Hopp 2020)
