ost a response to at least two peers, completed on two separate days from the initial post. The peer responses should provoke discussion and peer collaboration. A scholarly reference meeting the minimal requirements is to be provided to support the peer response posts. Please see the discussion board rubric for detailed requirements. The initial post and peer response posts must be completed by the previously established deadlines in order to receive full credit. You are a faculty member for a BSN program. The Dean has just appointed you to lead the 10-member Curriculum Revision Task Force. She has asked you to submit a plan for reviewing the school’s 3 year-old curriculum. You have been provided the following information: 1. Generally the faculty consider it be a great curriculum—75% think revision is not required. However, there are some issues. 2. The NCLEX scores were as follows: year 1, 83%; year 2, 82%; year 3, 72% 3. Last fall in the adult health (medical-surgical) course, 10% of the class failed. Faculty who teach this course do not believe it should be changed, but rather students need to commit more to the work. 4. Employers have said that new graduates were not as prepared as they should be. 5. There are disagreements among the specialty groups (particularly pediatrics and OB), as to how to cover material. 6. This is an upper level nursing program, meaning students do not take any nursing courses until their junior year and are technically not admitted to the nursing program until their junior year. 7. There no courses offered in the summer. 8. There are several small groups of faculty who are very strong in voicing their opinions and getting others to go along with their opinion. One of these groups opposes any changes. Faculty figure we have this going, don’t want to redo courses. 9. Some faculty teach both in the BSN and the Masters programs, and some only in one of the programs. The Dean has told you to consider any approach the task force wants to propose. She also said this must be finished by the end of the academic year. It is now June. Currently faculty do not work in the summer. The only requirement you have to follow that is related to the process is the curriculum must be submitted to the Curriculum Committee for approval. The Curriculum Committee membership is composed of 8 faculty members. Four teach primarily in the graduate program. The chairperson does not teach in the BSN program and has let some faculty know she does not think the curriculum needs to be changed. The school has an Assistant Dean for the Undergraduate Program and an Assistant Dean for the Graduate Program. I am looking for two nursing journals That can help answer the question how to identify the key barriers in this issue above. How would I address them? What process what I use? In the nursing journal that I choose for the process how would I use it? I would also like to look at the journals because I just can’t seem to find any to fix these situations within the last five years. Been trying to answer these questions. 1. Describe in sufficient detail to be clear what process/plan you will use using a nursing journal with in last 5 years 2. Identify the key barriers and how you might address them nursing journal within last 5 years
