Oftentimes the Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) will give the final approval for the implementation of new practices as it relates to nursing and patient care. It is important to gain buy-in from the CNE early on in the proposal process. The CNE is also the person who normally presents these proposals for change as it relates to nursing to the Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees.
So, my question is:
What methods/strategies would be useful in order for an APN to gain the support of the CNE for the successful implementation of a proposal?
