Contribution of Diet and Eating On Weight Loss

Weight loss and slimming exercise, even though a significant issue within the current society, not only concern the person but also involve nutritionists and other groups of people who are given the duty to work around the issue of obesity and weight loss. Exercise is an essential part of maintaining a healthy body and ensuring that obesity does not creep into a person. Even though exercise is not the final solution to obesity, it is an excellent way to retain a healthy body. If the build-up of fats is what causes obesity in a person, breaking them down once a person exercises, reduces obesity levels. However, apart from exercise, what a person eats is of a very great significance in how they are likely to be obese or not.

Some of the questions about obesity include what is meant by Leptin and if it is true that this hormone of the human body contributes to a person’s appetite fluctuations. Questions like how obesity can be controlled and when to realize when a person is already too obese to take preventive measures need to be answered. Apart from Leptin, appetite hormones have a huge role to play when it comes to the issue of being obese or being slim (McCulloch). Leptin and the other appetite hormones are of great essentiality in maintaining a healthy and fit body. Leptin is one of the hormones which sends a message to the brain reporting about the amount of fat in a person’s body. Depending on the amount of fat present in a person’s body, the brain can activate hormones that lead a person to eat more or make a person eat less. Therefore these eating behaviors determine if a person becomes obese or gets slim (“The Role of Genetics in Obesity”).

My view changed after watching the video and reading the post in a different manner. This is especially when it comes to the causative factors towards obesity. Despite the initial belief that a person can fully control if they want to become obese or not, it turns out that in some cases, it is not possible. Controlling one’s urge to eat from a person’s brain activity is not always easy as, at times, the desire to eat is the only thing a person feels, and they have to satisfy it.
