George Callahan, a 74-year-old male, is admitted to the cardiac ward with atrial fibrillation (AF). This
is a new presentation for George and he and his wife have many questions about the disease and its
impacts. George states he becomes short of breath on exertion (SOBOE) and begins to feel dizzy
which is the biggest concern for him at the moment.
Past History: Hypertension, GORD
Allergies: None known
Current observations: Pulse – 115 bpm, irregular; BP – 100/55, Resp Rate – 14 bpm, Oxygen
saturation – 96% RA, Temperature: 36.8.
