Mohammed, his wife and eight children have recently arrived in Canada
from a refugee camp. The children range in age from 2 to 15 yrs.
Mohammed’s wife is five months pregnant. The family does not speak
English. Mohammed uses a cell phone to translate conversations from
English to Arabic and back again.
Several church denominations have collaborated, and fund raised to
support this family’s arrival in the community. They have provided the
family with a furnished home to live in, rent free for the next year and
clothing for the family, as well as enough food for several weeks.
You are a Public Health Nurse assigned to work with this family and
church community to help them settle in Canada.
