Endotracheal intubation is one of the most significant skills performed by most anesthesia doctors. This is a popular practice for providing a permanent airway for critically ill patients and individuals undergoing surgical treatments. There is little doubt that protecting the airway is one of the most critical aspects of anesthetic patient care. According to the source, difficult or failed intubations account for 6% and 0.3% of anesthesia-related deaths, respectively, leading to 2.3% of anesthesia-related deaths, emphasizing the necessity of proper endotracheal intubation. Despite technological advancements, the traditional approach of direct laryngoscopy, which has been in use for more than 70 years, remains the gold standard of practice. Despite technological advancements, the traditional approach of direct laryngoscopy, which has been in use for more than 70 years, remains the gold standard of practice. Every approach utilized during the procedure of laryngoscopy in the field of anesthesia is geared on maximizing your view in order to secure the patient’s airway. My research project’s purpose is to compare the cost-benefit of video laryngoscopy vs direct laryngoscopy in hospitalized patients requiring endotracheal intubations, taking into account clinical benefits as well as direct and indirect expenses. One advantage of this study is that it will provide insight into whether video laryngoscopy should be considered the gold standard for all endotracheal intubations, taking into account the clinical and economic implications.
POC(T) question:

Outcome: successful endotracheal intubation, including clinical and economic benefits
Comparison Intervention: video laryngoscopy versus direct laryngoscopy
Time: duration of procedure
