J. W. is a 22 year old female presents to the clinic, with a two week history of severe abdominal cramps, persistent bloody and mucoid diarrhea, weight loss and tiredness. Symptoms started with abdominal cramps and an intense urge to pass stool after every meal. Her symptoms rapidly worsened with passage of stool becoming more frequent. About 2 days ago, she was passing persistently watery diarrhea mixed with fresh blood and mucous.
