In our workplace, we have a backup power source for a situation where the computer shuts down related to a power issue, giving us capability to continue our jobs. In a case where we cannot access the computer system because of a system error, we have a backup binder for each patient with a list of medications that they are on and when they are scheduled to be given. Unfortunately, it makes it impossible to see when it was last administered, but it gives us the capability to see what needs to be given.
