Hypertension CC: New Patient visit. Check up. HPI: Bob, a 52 yo white male presents to your office as a new patient for a check-up. He has never had a PCP and has always gone to urgent care for any medical issues. He went to the dentist last week and was told that his blood pressure was “really high.” He does not take any prescription medications. He has back pain that has occurred off and on for several years. He takes ibuprofen 800mg prn when he has pain. He has not had to take any for the past 3 weeks. He admits that he has been very sedentary since he took a desk job with the oil company that he works for. He smokes ½ ppd, drinks 2 or 3 beers each night, and says that he relies on fast food for most of his meals.
