Three months ago, Nina began to experience auditory hallucinations and persecutory delusions. She also experiences loose associations, blunted affect, avolition, and anhedonia. She also has trouble falling asleep and occasionally utilizes cannabis or alcohol in an attempt to assist with insomnia. Nina is currently prescribed Quetiapine (Seroquel) 800 mg PO at HS and has not noticed any improvement in symptoms. However, she often forgets to take the medication at night. Nina is meeting with a psychiatric nurse to discuss her medication regime. What advice/recommendations do you have for Nina and her physician?
