HPI: A 25-year-old female presents to the clinic with a 2-week history of abdominal pain located in her middle, lower abdominal region. She describes the pain as sharp and cramping. It seems to come and go rather than remain constant. The pain is worsened by running, sitting down firmly, or having intercourse. Avoiding these things seems to help slightly. She currently rates the severity of her pain as an 8/10. She denies any associated symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation. No changes in color or consistency of BMs. She denies any fever or chills. She has never experienced symptoms like this in the past. Denies any history of infections or disease of ovaries or uterus. LMP 5 days ago; was on time; reports pain was severe and this is abnormal for her.
