1300 (admission): A 42-year-old client presents to the ED following a farming accident in which the victim was pulled into the front of a corn harvester while the tractor was still on. The victim became trapped after the machine “caught” the legs of the victim’s overalls. Approximately 1 hour transpired until client’s sibling found the victim in the field. The sibling reports, initially, that the victim was responsive and experiencing severe pain. EMS reports indicate client became unconscious shortly after their arrival, and there was a significant amount of blood on the ground under the victim’s legs. EMS utilized a hydraulic rescue tool to remove the victim from the corn harvester. Large wraps cover the lower extremities. IV lactated Ringer infusing. Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) is 11.
