Case 1 CC: JJ is a 66 yoM presenting with abdominal bloating and constipation. HPI: JJ endorses not having a bowel movement for 3 days. He states that this issue occurs every couple weeks and has been ongoing for the past 6 months or so. He denies fever, rectal bleeding, recent weight loss, and vomiting. PMH: HTN, atrial fibrillation, OA (s/p R TKA 10/2017), chronic knee pain 2/2 OA, obesity Medications: • Enalapril 5mg PO BID • HCTZ 25mg PO daily • Verapamil 80mg PO TID • Apixaban 5mg PO BID • Acetaminophen 325mg PO q6h prn mild-moderate pain • Oxycodone 5mg PO q6h prn severe pain • Ondansetron 4mg PO q8h prn nausea Questions 1. JJ is wondering if any of his medications are potentially causing his symptoms? 1. JJ states that he has an old bottle of mineral oil in his medicine cabinet, and wonders whether this will help his symptoms?
