Potential Interventions: Outreach events usually take place for people who already have access to information and resources. Typically, there are not outreach events that are tailored to homeless community unless it relates to “feeding the poor”. In collaboration with the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services. Outreach events will take place in areas that homeless people are located to ensure effectiveness of intervention. Other interventions may include talking to hospital leaders that see homeless patients everyday. Hospital leaders can create a program in which every homeless person leaves the hospital with the understanding of their risks related to drug use. When we compare these interventions to the Public Health Interventions Wheel, they would fall on the second tier of the wheel that is “community focused” intervention. The interventions would further support the wheels recommendation that includes providing health teaching and counseling (Minnesota Department of Health, 2019).
