Please respond to the following discussion: I think a good video to illustrate the concept of work system to a project team would include step by step evidence-based practice techniques for teams to practice and improve on. Personally, in my unit, we do “mock codes” every quarter to ensure we know what to do in a real code. We have videos from our nurse educator to refer to, we have charts to look at, and we have a lot of reference material in case we have questions. Patient safety is at the upmost importance, therefore practicing how to keep them safe and bettering our skills is vital to maintain patient safety. A good video would have an example, such as a mock code, and walk through every step on what to do, how to do the skills, and being knowledgeable within the code. There are multiple components within a code, or any educational material, and practicing them often with a team or unit is great for a unit as a whole. Also, maintaining and enhancing our skills only improves patient safety and expedites discharge dates.
