PREOPERATIVE DIAGNOSIS: Chronic pelvic pain, primary infertility POSTOPERATIVE DIAGNOSIS: Chronic pelvic pain, primary infertility PROCEDURES: Examination under anesthesia, diagnostic laparoscopy, hydrotubation of uterus FINDINGS: Examination under anesthesia revealed a retroverted uterus which was about 6 weeks size. The left and right adnexa were palpable and felt to be about 5 cm in diameter on both sides. The uterus was not very mobile at all. On examination under laparoscopy, her uterus was smooth and globular and reverted, as well as retroflexed. The left fallopian tube was visualized from the cornua to the fimbriated end and appeared normal. The left ovary was 3 x 4 cm. The right fallopian tube was also visualized from the cornua to the fimbriated end and appeared to have clubbing but was otherwise normal. The right ovary was 4 x 5 cm with a cyst evident. She had bilateral patent fallopian tubes. Laparoscopic examination showed her hepatic capsule to be grossly smooth and a slightly dilated gallbladder.
