Janene Whitmore is a 58-year-old female who identifies as fernale and uses the pronouns she/her who was admitted 2 days ago after being involved in a motor vehicle crash (MVC). She was the seat-belted passenger in a vehicle that was rear-ended by another vehicle doing approximately 40 mph. Airbags were deployed The client was able to self-extricate from the vehicle and had no loss of consciousness or altered mental status. The client has several small, superficial lacerations on her face. She does have a laceration on the bridge of her nose that required several stitches. The client’s main complaint on admission to the ED was abdominal pain. What appeared to be blood was found in her peritoneal cavity via ultrasound. The client was taken to the OR for an exploratory laparotomy. The source of the bleeding was found and repaired. The client has multiple areas of resolving ecchymosis on her abdomen and on her back. She has an indwelling urinary catheter in place. The client has a 20 g PIV in her left AC with sodium chloride 0.9% running at 50 cc/hour. Current Vital signs are a temperature of 36.9° C (98.4* F), pulse 78/min, respirations 18/min, blood pressure 163/54
