Can you make this a psychological case study patient report: Okay, the patient is a 44-year-old black male who was seen for worsening membrane problems and complaints of headaches, blurred vision, and memory difficulty. He underwent surgery to help with his blurred vision and decrease the frequency of his headaches, but at the onset, he had worsened memory problems. Speaks fluent English and has 12 years of education (high school). He served in the US Army for 22 years in logistical operations during Operation Desert Storm in Iraqi Freedom. After the Army, he worked in logistics and purchasing departments in the civilian Aerospace and defense industry. He was a medical leave due to worsening memory problems after surgery and eventually had to stop work because of poor performance and is hopeful of returning to work if his memory improves He had a traumatic childhood at age 12, witnessing his father kill his mother and then commit suicide during combat in the military. He frequently witnessed violence and death that continued, which he re-experienced in nightmares and flashbacks. So, after returning to combat, he had a 21-day Veterans Administration psychiatric hospitalization for PTSD. He also endorsed suicidal ideation with a plan of ending his life when he returned from Iraq but denied having any plan for acting on his thoughts. He did report past episodes when he exhibited manic symptoms, including a decreased need for Sleep, feelings of grandiosity, pressured speech, increased activity, irritability, and agitation. He suffered one diagnosed concussion during his military service, which occurred 23 years ago during a parachute jump when he lost his balance when Landing, resulting in him falling and hitting his head. He was unconscious for a few minutes and then hospitalized. He had a second suspected concussion, which occurred 3 years ago, where he hit his head on a wall following a blast detonation. He did not seek medical evaluation or treatment and said he did not experience residual following either incident. He initially had hyperlipidemia and hypertension, which he takes medications for, as well as his occasional headaches. He’s independent and has basic activities of daily living but has poor memory due to his wife taking over bill payments, providing reminders for appointments, and taking his medication.
