Peter, a 28-year-old IDDM (Type 1 diabetic) patient, has presented to SCEI Pathology Collection clinic for a routine fasting BSL and CHOL/LDL/HDL/TRIG. He had administered his insulin in the morning and on the Peter prepares to leave out the door, he complains of feeling light headed and very dizzy, you begin to notice paleness in his face and an altered conscious state in him. Peter loses consciousness, faints and falls to the ground, and after a few seconds he begins to have a seizure. You also notice that he has sustained a graze to his left knee.
