G.S. is admitted to the cardiothoracic ICU directly from the operating room after having a 3 vessel coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) procedure. Vital Signs: T 97.8oF; 115/60; HR 73; RR 14; SPO2 98% on 6 L of O2 per simple mask Assessment: Drowsy, arousable to voice, oriented x4, PERRLA, MAEW, lung sounds diminished and clear, no adventitious heart sounds, absent bowel sounds, 2 palpable pulses bilateral radial and pedal, skin temperature is warm, foley to gravity drainage, mediastinal chest tube to -20 cm Hg and minimal sanguineous drainage noted, surgical dressing clean/dry/intact
